I started this blog to provide a practical defense of conservative thought from the perspective of a happily married father of two residing in middle-class suburbia. My background includes a working class childhood, five years as a US Naval Officer, and my current status as an insurance professional. My wife and I are Evangelical Christians who sometimes find ourselves ever so slightly to the left of our co-religionists.
My word-smithing abilities shall never approach that of the many talented writers one finds at National Review or The Weekly Standard, nor my analysis the levels of a Hugh Hewitt or John Hinderaker. And need I mention the ability to combine both talents in one person? God gave us only one Mark Steyne --smashed that mold to teeny bits, He did.
Nevertheless, I'm going to put forward my best and invite those better than I to provide content as the opportunity (hopefully) presents itself. If you find anything here the least bit thought provoking, please pass along a link to this blog.
